As the sun goes down
and the moon takes possession of the sky
slowly she tip-toes
to the evergreen lawn.
Contended in solitude
she recalls things of past,
memories hidden
in her deep settled soul.
She looks back and marvels
at the roles she has played in life.
she can’t move back and feel the joy
that time has taken away.
